SWG Basic Combat Training: TKO Hunting Group Methods and Tactics
§ III Introduction: Before Leaving Base
Objectives:
- Learn to make final preparations before leaving base.
At some point before you start hunting you will be in a city, either with the group or just before leaving to meet the group in the wilderness, where everyone clones and regroups. This is the Base City often just called Base.
- Clone
Unless your group has agreed otherwise, set your clone at the Cloning Facility nearest the area your group will be hunting. This prevents you from taking damage when cloning after death, thereby reducing in-town healing time. Cost is a one-time fee of 1000 credits and is paid whenever you change the location of your clone, not every time you clone in the same place.
- Insure
Whenever you die and must activate your clone, certain items will take damage. Uninsured items will take 5% damage, and insured items will take 1% damage. Once an item reaches 0% condition, it is unusable. Exceptions whould be considered game bugs which, when corrected, will cause any 0% condition items to become useless.
- Heal
Take the time to heal completely in a cantina and med center as needed before setting out with a group, and after cloning if you should die. This saves group stims and usually reduces overall downtime. If you are using pets, have them healed up as well.
- Last Chance Prehunt Prep
Anything in the Prehunt Checklist you were not able to take care of previously, or is simply more practical to take car of at Base, should be done so now. Inform the GL of what you are doing and about how long it will take. If for some reason you are in a mad rush, at the very least you should clone.
- Grab Your Missions
If you are unsure, ask the GL if you are taking missions. If so, ask which direction and what type of missions to take. Get two missions in the exact direction and the exact type the GL has told you. Very often the difference between S and SW is MOB spawn the likes of which even Lucas has never seen, and getting the wrong type missions means yours may not get done - then you can try to figure out how many credits you received from other people's missions and try to /tip everyone their share. Grabbing the right missions falls into the carrying-your-own-weight category of tasks.
